Season 2, Episode 6

One of the original pirates

by | Jul 6, 2020 | Media

By the time he was legally allowed to get a drink in a bar, Lee Bramley had already spent years DJing inside them. He’d also been throwing his own parties, while simultaneously trying to avoid getting arrested by government agents, intent on shutting down London’s infamous pirate radio network. Within a few years he was also running several record labels, and had even gone on to establish himself as one of the main players of the UK garage scene. I could have based the whole interview just on those few years, and it would have been great, but there’s another three decades worth of hidden gold in there to uncover.

Fast forward to 2020 and Lee now finds himself as one of the top dance party promoters in Perth, as head honcho of Grooveyard Promotions, and the owner of a successful recording studio, Groove Yard Studio, and of course, he’s an absolutely rocking DJ. Not content with building crowds, tracks, and dancefloors, Lee’s also established a highly successful construction and renovation company. I guess he just can’t seem to get enough of the house and garage!

And if all that ain’t enough for you, we also discover how Lee spent over a decade working for one of the world’s best known football clubs. Yup, you didn’t see that one coming did you?

So I hope you enjoy Episode 6 of Series 2, my chat with Lee Bramley..
